The Jim Caldwell Legacy Scholarship
Jim Caldwell was voted “Most Sincere” by his high school classmates, and the life he lived reflected the very essence of the man.
Jim was a licensed minister, but dedicated his life to academics and earned his teaching certification at UT Arlington.
As a teacher and coach at Bridgeport Middle School, he connected with students through One Act Play, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, football, and high school golf.
He was awarded the FCA Huddle Coach of the Year and voted by his students as Teacher of the Year numerous times.
And on Friday nights he could be found in the press box filming the Bridgeport Bulls.
In 2022, Jim was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, so travels were put on hold for chemotherapy. One year later, a second surgery indicated his disease had advanced to Stage 4 and Jim and his wife, Debbie, set out for what they knew might be their last big trip together to the Sawtooth Mountains and Snake River in Idaho. However, his illness cut short their travels and he passed away on September 14, 2024.
Established in honor of Jim Caldwell, this scholarship celebrates leadership, character, and lasting impact. It is awarded to a student who demonstrates integrity, commitment to community, and the drive to make a meaningful difference.
For students pursuing a degree at an accredited college or university, FamAlly Cares offers two $1,500 Scholarships for Alliance RV product owners and their spouse, child, or grandchild to honor the memory and legacy of Jim Caldwell.
