Do the Right Thing
The spontaneous “Pass the Hat” moment for the grandson of Mike and Rachel Ellis at a regional rally grew into a larger donation effort at the Alliance National Rally in 2022 when the Ally Family came together once again to raise funds for their grandson.
After his birth, Mike and Rachel’s grandson spent four months in the NICU on a ventilator and had a shunt to remove fluid from his brain. Today this little guy brings so much joy to his family and continues to power through his limitations. This family received an outpouring of love and support from the Alliance community.
At the Texas Ally Rally the first donation was taken to help offset the family's medical costs. Several people started discussing the possibility of starting a nonprofit and the seed was planted for FamAlly Cares Inc.
In that moment the Allies realized that this level of care and compassion should be an ongoing, organized venture.
Collectively, we began to live by the motto, “Do the Right Thing!” and our nonprofit was born!
The power of silent auctions.
We held our first Silent Auction in 2022.
And we proved that there is power when people come together for a common goal. That effort raised 15K to benefit another Ally family!
2023 brought our next silent auction.
This one benefited the Boys and Girls club of Elkhart County and raised over 19K!
